Overload of Information

I have recently been pondering the internet, what it holds, where it is, and if anyone really understands it. Just think about it. There are probably millions of pictures, posts, and articles uploaded to the internet everyday. Where does it all go? Is there a way to lose the internet. How would we get it back? What is reaching it? What if when our whole civilization is depleted, and a new civilization inhabits the earth, they somehow find our internet. What will they think about it? I just can't wrap my head around questions like these. It's all too complicated. Does anyone else wonder about things like this?
